The Himalayan collection evokes an old-world, handcrafted feel through it’s use of hand-made Lotka paper from Nepal for the cover, finished off with a wrap around cover flap and string tie.
We start the Himalayan books with imported Lotka paper. The Lotka paper is hand-made in Nepal in a sustainable process of harvesting the bark from the Lotka tree. Due to the hand-made nature of the paper, each book is completely unique and different. The papers are available in four different colors: Pinto, Natural, Chocolate, and Black.
The Himalayan inside pages are printed on the cream felt paper, which has a slight warm tone base to it, and a watercolor paper like texture. After printing, the pages have their edges torn by hand to give the book an even more vintage like feel.
The Himalayan Collection is bound using a smyth sewn binding. With the Smyth Sewn binding, the pages are folded, sewn and glued into the binding. This allows the books to lay flat when viewing, which makes it fantastic for panoramic images. It also offers superior durability, and we offer a lifetime guarantee on the binding and manufacturing to back that up.
